RIGHT ON PR at CMJ !
Fall in NY means it's also time again for CMJ! I look forward to catching up with everyone next week so give me a shout to get on the list and I'll see you at the shows! Right On is proud to present to you...
TUESDAY, OCT 20 - DIGNAN @ LIVING ROOM
11pm, Paste Magazine Party
http://www.myspace.com/dignan
Easily one of the best DIY bands out there today, Dignan are touring now in support of their outstanding recent self-release, 'Cheaters & Thieves'. This young McAllen, TX five piece has criss-crossed the US multiple times on solid self-booked tours, shared the stage with the likes of Ra Ra Riot and Color Revolt, hit SXSW, Panchanga, DFest and Cornerstone festivals playing to thousands and selling out first-run pressings of 'The Guest' and 'Cheaters & Thieves'. When you see Dignan live, you are immediately aware of the fact that you are seeing a group with that special something. Definitely one to watch!
WEDNESDAY, OCT 21 - ALINA SIMONE @ LIVING ROOM
11:45pm, Whitesmith CMJ Showcase
http://www.myspace.com/alinasimone
Labels take note! Russian-born NY-based artist Alina Simone has her brand new full length 'Make Your Own Danger' at the ready and will be showcasing her amazing new songs along with tracks from her critically praised back catalog. 'Make Your Own Danger', written and performed by Alina and produced by Steve Revitte (Yeasayers, Black Dice, Liars) is follow up to Alina's acclaimed 'Everyone Is Crying Out To Me, Beware' full length of Russian covers of punk icon Yanka Dyagaleva. Always bold and mesmerizing onstage, this is her only Fall performance in the city.
FRIDAY 10/23 - WALLPAPER @ WEBSTER HALL w/full band
12:30am, AM Only Showcase
http://www.myspace.com/wallpaper
Wallpaper's mix of hyphy and serious talent have them lauded as the hottest thing coming from the West Coast! Touring now in support of their fun, new concept album 'Doodoo Face', the Bay Area duo are bringing the dance party to CMJ and performing with FULL BAND! In the studio it is producer/remix master Eric Frederic (Combination Pizza Hut & Taco Bell) who creates the funk and the flair, while onstage it is the theatrics of his charismatic, sequined alter-ego Ricky Reed who brings Wallpaper's pop culture fresh tracks to life alongside drummer Arjun Singh. Check out the group LA Weekly calls "The new Michael Jacksons".
