It's March! Time for lions, lambs and SXSW! Fresh from Right On HQ...
Hey LA! LIZZ WINSTEAD is bringing her newest creation WAKE UP WORLD, the only six hour morning show, for its west coast debut on March 17 & 18 at Steve Allen Theater. Get your tix before the shows sell out like they did on their NYC and MN runs! Alongside Lizz, the multi-media satire Wake Up World is co-written and co-produced by some of the today's best political comics and writers, and the live show will include special guests. Some past guests include Michael Stipe, Sarah Silverman, Roseanne, and Rachael Maddow, so you never know how might be on stage with Lizz for the LA shows, but you KNOW it's going to be brilliantly funny!
MATT & KIM are on the road again! On TOUR in support of their amazing new album, 'Grand', Matt & Kim have been firing up the crowds at their sold out shows and though the album has been out only a short time, fans in every city know words to all the new songs, singing along and dancing like crazy! We've had reports of mayhem of the best sort happening at the shows along this tour, many of which have sold out in advance -Thanks LA, SF, NYC and STL! Next week the Brooklyn duo will be shooting a segment for Fuel TV -Stay Tuned!!
Vancouver's BRASSTRONAUT have made a gorgeous VIDEO for the track "Requiem for a Scene" from their upcoming US release 'OLD WORLD LIES'. Shot by Alan Miller, the video was recently made available online and not but a few days later, the MERCURY PRIZE site picked up on it and made it a featured recommended video! Watch it HERE and also look for Brasstronaut to hit the US cities this month ON TOUR!
THE INTERIORS are braving the storm. LIterally. The Chicago gents made their way to NY where they are set to tear it up two nights before winding their way down to Austin for SXSW. Check their dates and get out to rock it with The Interiors! PastaPrima promises “it has ALL the GUITAR you could EVER want blowing out of the windy city”. Sure nuff!
And LA, we're not done with you yet! The remarkable MATT McCARTHY is coming for a one man show at UCB on March 11 and he's going to be performing just for YOU. For people in other parts of the world, Matt performs on your tv regularly. Like in Guinness, Verizon commercials (he's the red headed guy that makes you laugh) and the new Doritos commercial. Wish you had thought of Beer Doritos? Too late. Matt McCarthy already did that. Bewm!
Hey fans! Viral video genius JOHN ROBERTS (he of the Jackie & Debra, Mother's Day, The Christmas Tree and more!) is back with a new one! Just in time to announce his March 8 shows at COMIX in NYC, John is out with a hilarious new video made alongside his friend Margaret Cho! Now, we can't tell you yet who will be performing with John at this special Comix night, you'll have to stay tuned for an announcement later this week, but she is drop dead funny. In the meantime, do enjoy 'MARGIE & MRS CHO' HERE!
EUGENE MIRMAN just wrapped a fantastic book tour in support of THE WILL TO WHATEVS, out now on Harper Perennial. Thanks to everyone who came out to the readings and bought the book. Your life will only be better because of it. So what now for “Brooklyn's — or at least Park Slope's — unofficial comic laureate”? Um, everything!
