Goldenboy just wrapped their first tour in support of their gorgeous new lp 'Sleepwalker' and made a sweet video to bookend the tour.  Friday, February 25 Goldenboy play a record release show at Hotel Cafe which will welcome them back home to LA.  Lots more shows coming up next month, including SXSW!  Find it all at http://www.goldenboyband.com/

GOLDENBOY NEW 'SLEEPWALKER' LP, FREE "HOLIDAY" TRACK & TOUR

Eenie Meenie Records is excited to announce the release of 'Sleepwalker,' the new album by Shon Sullivan under his Elliott Smith coined nickname Goldenboy.  The album was written by Sullivan, demoed in his garage studio and later recorded with full band in two different southern California studios, Intersteller and Leaning Pine.  Veteran producer Don Tayler, who mastered all of Elliott Smith's records, sequenced and mastered the album.  Fans of Goldenboy's previous releases will find 'Sleepwalker' showcases Sullivan's talent as songwriter and multi instrumentalist who masters piano, cello, guitar and voice for an unfancy yet affecting pop lushness which dovetails perfectly with the understated charms of the band's previous LPs, including 2006's critically acclaimed 'Underneath the Radio.'  In an early review of 'Sleepwalker,' Examiner LA said "fans of Radiohead's spiraling and melodic duty-driven shoegaze will enjoy" and called it the "right prescription for
some holiday blues."

Before his solo career, Shon Sullivan, a native of Diamond Bar, CA, first toured and recorded with Spain before Elliott Smith recruited Sullivan to be a member of his band. It was during his four years in Elliott's band that Sullivan also began writing his own music as Goldenboy.  As the go-to multi-talented artist in LA, Sullivan has also worked with Neil Finn, Johhny Marr, The Eels,  Matt Sharp/The Rentals, Ed Harcourt and many more.  Goldenboy have toured with Bright Eyes, Stephen Malkmus, and Grandaddy to name but a few, and will be setting out as a full band for much touring throughout 2011, including shows at SXSW.

CLICK HERE to check out brand new album track "Holiday" which will be available as a bonus track when 'Sleepwalker' is out Feb 8 2011 on Eenie Meenie Records.  You can also hear another new song "I Like You Because" on Goldenboy's myspace page.

WALLPAPER FOOLS GOLD + MARIAH CAREY & SiSTRS From Different MiSTRS

Producer / remix master extraordinaire Eric Frederic, he of the Das Racist "Combination Pizza Hut & Taco Bell" remix fame and the hot new Wallpaper concept album 'Doodoo Face' (Eenie Meenie Records), is back with a new series of jams entitled "SiSTRS from different MiSTERS" with a new remix being released every 2 wks. Debuting exclusively at Stereogum, Wallpaper's mindblowing mash up of  Fools Gold + Mariah Carey "seamlessly substitutes Mariah Carey's "Emotions" melisma for Luke Top and Lewis Pesacov's Hebrew-and-horns incantations."

What was Eric Frederic thinking?
"When I first heard "Surprise Hotel," I felt all these little thought bubbles effervescing in my brain. There is a lot to take in, on a musical level. The original vocal coats this exuberant track with a calm, peaceful beauty. So I started combing the universe for a vocal that seemed as wilin' out as those guitar parts and roughly the same tempo and / or key. Turns out Mariah Carey's "Emotions" is already in the exact same key (the relative minor) and dances atop the rhythm section like it was born to. This is the first segment of SiSTRS from different MiSTRS."

Also watch for Wallpaper's video debut for second album single "Gettin' Drip" to hit next week. For those of you in SF, mark your calendar for Friday Nov 27 when Wallpaper rip up Regency Ballroom with Amanda Blank and Peaches!
