Austin band THE EASTERN SEA announce the release of their remarkable new album PLAGUE due out June 26 on the WhiteLabBlackLab label.  Created in 2005 as the bedroom project of songwriter/vocalist Matthew Hines, The Eastern Sea quickly emerged as one of the Lone Star State's most talked about bands after the release of The Eastern Sea, a collection of two eponymous EPs in '08 and '09. The band earned the attention of the national press, made several festival appearances including SXSW, CMJ, FPH Summerfest, set out on a pair of national tours and firmly established themselves beyond their local  loyal fanbase as a One To Watch.

The Eastern Sea began work on Plague, their first official full length, in 2010. The album was recorded to tape by Matt Smith (Ola Podrida, Golden Bear) at HOTTRACKS!!! in Austin and mastered by Jeff Lipton at Peerless Mastering (Bon Iver, Andrew Bird). Their most cohesive collection of songs to date, Plague combines the hypnotic rhythm of post-rock, the playful melodies of traditional American folk, and the dynamics of contemporary progressive indie-rock.  Lyrically, frontman/multi-instruentalist Hines' boldly present vocals weave a revealing autobiographical narrative, developing themes of change, transition, and powerlessness over the course of Plague's twelve cohesive  and compelling songs.

The Eastern Sea will be showcasing new songs at Stubbs on Friday, April 13.  More touring tba.

Reggie Watts, internationally renowned musician/ comedian/ vocalist/ beatboxer, announces a headlining US tour this May.  The NY-based artist who wows audiences with his improvised performances will be bringing his unforgettable live show to select cities across the States this Spring. A talent like no other, Reggie’s ability to blend and blur the lines between music and comedy makes each show a unique experience and thrills audiences around the world.  As a performer at the Secret Policeman’s Ball, Reggie recently shared the stage with John Stewart, Coldplay, and Mumford and Sons. After his unique set at the highly regarded TED Conference in early March, Reggie received a standing ovation.  Reggie performed a slew of packed out shows at SXSW, including a stand out set at Jack White’s Third Man Records showcase.  Conan O'Brien handpicked Reggie as his tour opener for the entire sold out  North American tour where Reggie left audiences slack jawed, and Reggie has since made numerous appearances on Conan.  Reggie more recently joined LCD Soundsystem as special guest on the final NYC shows and he can be seen in the new documentary “Shut Up And Play The Hits.” Reggie is also the resident one-man bandleader on the new IFC comedy series “Comedy Bang! Bang!” which premieres Friday, June 8th (10pm EST).

For fans everywhere, Reggie created an original soundtrack for the Ridley Scott cult classic "Legend," now available for free download. The video was directed, shot and edited by Alex R Johnson (La Chima Films) in the Andes of Equador.

SOFT SWELLS ANNOUNCE DEBUT LP & SHOWS
STREAM NEW SINGLE "PUT IT ON THE LINE"

Soft Swells announce the release of their outstanding self-titled debut LP, out Feb 28 on Modern Outsider (Ume).  Soft Swells  follows up the group's hot 7" featuring tracks "Every Little Thing" and “Lifeboats” which grabbed airplay at KCRW and KROQ and started a Soft Swells buzz on the West Coast last summer leaving fans anxiously awaiting the release of an LP.  The band also announces upcoming West Coast shows including NoisePop and a showcase at SXSW.

Soft Swells was recorded in the UK by Dave Lynch (Clearlake, Liam Finn, Ed Harcourt), and is the first full length from the new band fronted by Tim Williams (Dovecote Records) and collaborator Matt Welsh (Phonograph) and they are heading into its release with great momentum.  Soft Swells were named BuzzbandsLA's Band To Watch in 2012, earmarked as "Potential breakout at this year's SXSW" by OperationEvery Band and recently featured band on  MTV Buzzworthy.  Their new album single "Put It On The Line" was featured track on MTVHive and also debuted in the Top 10 at specialty radio, all while glowing album reviews have been hitting online well in advance of the release, too.
